  • The MPC4 200-510-076-114 machinery protection card is basically the heart of the Series Machinery Protection System (MPS)—it’s what makes the whole monitoring setup work. What’s great about it is how flexible it is: it can measure and keep an eye on up to 4 dynamic signal inputs and 2 speed inputs all at the same time, so you don’t need extra cards cluttering up the rack.
  • Those dynamic signal inputs are fully programmable, which is super handy. You can set them up to take acceleration, velocity, displacement (proximity) signals, and more—whatever your machinery needs. Plus, it can measure other physical parameters right on the card, like specific relative and overall vibration, Smax, eccentricity, thrust position, absolute and differential housing expansion, displacement, and dynamic pressure. No extra tools needed for those readings.
  • On the digital processing side, it handles all the essential steps: filtering out noise, integrating or differentiating signals if necessary, rectifying (whether you need RMS, mean value, true peak, or true peak-to-peak), order tracking (both amplitude and phase), and even measuring the airgap between the sensor and its target. It takes raw signals and turns them into usable data.
  • For speed monitoring, the tachometer inputs work with all kinds of speed sensors—proximity probes, magnetic pulse pickups, TTL signals, you name it. And you can even use fractional tach ratios, which is helpful for more specific setups.
  • Setting it up is easy too: you can choose metric or imperial units. All the alarm settings are programmable, like Alert and Danger setpoints, Alarm Time Delay, Hysteresis, and Latching. Even better, you can adjust the Alert and Danger thresholds based on speed or other external info, so alarms stay relevant.
  • Each alarm level gets a digital output (inside the IOC4T input/output card). These signals can drive the four local relays on the IOC4T, or go through the rack’s Raw bus or Open Collector (OC) bus to trigger relays on optional cards like the RLC16 or IRC4—whatever fits your system.
