  • The IS200VSPAH1A is a key board component in GE’s Speedtronic lineup, specifically built to slot into Mark VI and Mark VIe control systems—those workhorses that keep industrial turbines running smoothly. Whether it’s gas, hydro, or steam turbines in power plants or heavy industry, this board plays a vital role in controlling and managing their operations, acting as a kind of “processing hub” for turbine-related signals.
  • Physically, it’s a component-packed board with two backplane connectors that lock it into the system’s rack—those connectors are what let it communicate with other parts of the Mark VI/Vie setup. Up front, there’s a faceplate secured by two set screws; once you slide the board into the rack, tightening those screws keeps it rock-solid, even with the vibration common in industrial environments. The faceplate itself is practical too: three LED indicators glow to show things like power status or signal activity, so technicians can do a quick visual check at a glance, and two D-shell connectors make hooking up cables fast—no fumbling with tiny pins when time is tight.
  • Under the hood, the board’s heart is a XILINX field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chip—this is the “brain” that handles custom logic and signal processing tailored to turbine control. Around that FPGA, you’ll find a dense array of other components: integrated circuits that handle specific functions, resistors and capacitors that regulate power and signals, diodes that direct current flow, and transistors for switching. There are also a few inductor coils and oscillating chips scattered across the surface, each playing a part in keeping the board’s signals stable.
