  • The EPRO PR6426/010-110 is a differential expansion measuring probe that works hand-in-hand with its preprocessor to form a functional oscillator—let’s break that down simply: when the probe gets closer to a metal object, the oscillator’s amplitude fades, and how much it fades is directly proportional to the distance between the probe and the metal. That’s the core of how it measures displacement, plain and simple.
  • This sensor’s sweet spot is mechanical vibration: it handles frequencies from 4Hz to 1000Hz (covering the 10–1000Hz range too, depending on the setup) and can pick up amplitudes up to 2mm peak-to-peak—some models even stretch to 3mm. For industrial gear like turbo-machines, fans, compressors, gearboxes, water pumps, or coal conveyors, that’s exactly the range needed to spot vibration issues early.
  • What makes it a workhorse for tough spots is its rugged build. It’s designed to hold up in dangerous environments, including explosion-proof areas—its rating goes up to Eex ib IIC T6/T4, so it’s safe for zones where flammable gases or vapors might be present.
  • And let’s not overlook the practical stuff: it uses eddy current sensor tech, which means non-contact measurement—no wear and tear from touching moving parts, perfect for both static and dynamic displacement checks. Even better, the sensor and preprocessor come fully calibrated as a set before shipping, using 42CrMo4 calibration material. That means when you install it, you don’t have to mess with calibration—just mount it and go. It spits out a voltage signal proportional to vibration speed, so it integrates smoothly with most industrial measurement systems too.
