The 2024 Paris Olympics, also known as the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, is an international Olympic event held in Paris, France. The Olympics will open on July 26, 2024, local time, and close on August 11. Some events will start on July 24, with a total of 32 major events and 329 minor events. A total of 206 countries and regions will participate in this Olympics.
On September 13, 2017, Thomas Bach announced that the host city of the 2024 Olympics is Paris. After Paris' successful bid, it became the second city in the world to host the Summer Olympic Games at least three times after London, and it is also the first city to host the Olympic Games again after the 1924 Paris Olympics. This may be the first Olympic Games with a completely balanced ratio of men and women, with half of the male and female athletes.
On July 25, 2022, the Paris Olympic Committee announced the slogan of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, Games Wide Open.
On April 16, 2024, the Olympic flame was successfully collected at the site of Ancient Olympia in Greece, and the torch relay journey began.
